MichiganHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Ken Evans of Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze, to discuss what's new at Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze for the 2017 Halloween Season! Located in Fowlerville, this haunted attraction gives thrill seekers the fright they've had an appetite for all year long, plus much more throughout acres and acres!

What's new at Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze for 2017? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?

We changed many rooms in the haunted house. We added brand new endings to the haunted Hayride and Haunted Maze. The Escape Room was also revamped.

What differentiates Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze from other local haunts in Michigan?

The haunted house is uniquely different from most. It's actor driven with many one of a kind Chris Angel mind freak scares. The haunted maze and Hayride feature their own one of a kind scares. We incorporate huge farm equipment to help implement some of the scares that other places can't duplicate. The Escape Room is a 3 Room adventure.

How long has Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze's history?

This is our 15th season and 2nd season for our Escape Room. We started just doing a haunted house in 2 mobile homes, then we added a haunted maze 3 years later. A couple years after that we added a haunted Hayride. Last year we added an Escape Room we have over 75 Actors and a 26 acre regular corn maze.

What's your favorite experience since opening Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze?

Bringing something exciting to an area that is considered less than exciting.

How long is a typical haunt experience at Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze from start to finish?

Haunted house is 15 min
Haunted Hayride is 30 min
Haunted Maze is 30 min
Escape Room is 50 min

On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze is? Why?

Haunted House - 7 entertainment wise -9
Haunted Maze - 9 Haunted Hay Ride - 5
Escape Room - 5

Does Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?

The barn is over a hundred years old and pretty creepy. They found mastodon bones on this property.

What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?

I loved Halloween growing up and up did my buddies. We decided just to entertain friends and family every Halloween and it grew from there. My favorite part is watching people get scared and laughing with excitement.

How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze?

We incorporate a bunch of animatronics and props throughout every event. However the best scares seem to be the ones that we designed and built ourselves.

Can Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze together as a group?

Yes we can and yes we do!

Does Slaughterhouse Adventure & Grand River Corn Maze offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?

Yes the more events you go on the cheaper it is. We have 2 and 3 event specials. Our Escape Room price is exceptional compared to others.
