What does The Edson Incident have in store for the 2026 Halloween season? Wayne Miracle is here to tell you!

What's new at The Edson Incident for 2026? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?

There is a whole new theme this year!

What are you most excited about for the 2026 Halloween Season?

We are excited to see our sacrifices returning to the Edson Incident this season!

What differentiates The Edson Incident from other local haunts in Michigan?

We are the only Haunted Attraction in the Midwest on board a Navy Destroyer! Also one of two awesome ships in the state of Michigan with a Haunted Attraction.

How long has The Edson Incident been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about The Edson Incident's history?

This will be our eleventh season. The Edson has a lot of history. Come out during the day, and she will be open to the public as a museum ship. The Edson served throughout Vietnam and even did a recruiting tour in the Great Lakes. She is one of two Forrest Sherman-class destroyers left in existence.

What's your favorite experience since opening The Edson Incident?

Seeing how much the Edson Incident has brought scary joy to so many people and how raising funds has helped restoration on the Edson. She is currently getting her deck sanded and sealed, along with the hull repainted!

How long is a typical haunt experience at The Edson Incident from start to finish?

It is usually around 20 to 30 minutes, depending on if you are a runner or not. We don't recommend running!

On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say The Edson Incident is? Why?

That is a hard question as different people are scared of different scenarios. We have been known to be pee-level scary.

Does The Edson Incident's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?

Yes, we do. There have been a ton of stories about ghosts, things being moved, shadows, dogs, and many others. The Edson was featured on an episode of the original Twilight Zone and on an episode of Ghost Asylum. There have been many paranormal investigations on board the ship.

What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?

The former President of the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, Mike Kegley, asked us to run a haunted attraction to help raise money for the ship. Great guy, but hard to say no to, so we said we would give it a go! Eleven seasons later, we are still at it! Favorite part is seeing people enjoy something you've created.

How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance The Edson Incident?

We don't use many animatronics. Actors for the win! Lighting helps a lot!

Can The Edson Incident accommodate large groups? How many people can experience The Edson Incident together as a group?

Yes, we can! We don't ask people to combine groups. If you have a large group, we can separate you if you want, or you can go together.

Does The Edson Incident offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?

We have discounts for Military and First Responders with I.D., and Groups of 15 or more.

Anything else you'd like to let us know about The Edson Incident?

The Edson Incident is a fundraising organization for the USS Edson, a Forrest Sherman-class Navy Destroyer run by the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, a Veteran-run volunteer organization. We are always looking for volunteers (You don't have to be a Veteran). If you want to learn a few skill trades while also learning about museum operations, this is a perfect place to volunteer!
