This theatre dates back to 1900 and has had well-known visitors including Douglas Fairbanks Sr., Frank Morgan, John Philip Sousa, Lon Chaney Sr., and Sarah Bernhardt. This theater is believed to have a spirit that lingers, said to be the ghost of renowned Shakespearean actress, Madame Helena Modjeska. Her ghost was first spotted around 1958 when she helped actress Adysse Lane when she forgot her lines during a performance. Witnesses have reported unexplained cold breezes andhave heard music that seems to be coming from nowhere.
