Detroit Masonic Temple
500 Temple Street
Detroit, MI 48201
Detroit, MI 48201
Standing as the world's largest masonic temple, it was constructed in the 1920s and completed construction in 1926. It was built with more than 1,000 rooms and secret passageways. Today, it is haunted by the spirit of George D. Mason. Mason went bankrupt while funding the construction of the structure. His wife subsequently left him and he committed suicide by jumping off the roof of the temple. Securities guards claimed to have seen his apparition going up the stairs to the roof.
