This building dates back to 1898 and ironically enough, caught fire twice. One time was in 1901 and the next in 1922. In the second fire, Chief Alonzo Miller passed away and his spirit is said to linger the place now. Witnesses have reported hearing voices, bangs, knocks, whispers, and doors that open and close by themselves.

Definitely haunted,,,,

From the moment we entered I told my husband that this place is haunted. I didn’t know the history or anything about the museum, I took my grandson who was visiting from out of state. We had to take multiple pictures because they were all blurry and had streaks and lights throughout. My phone just went dead while we were inside.

Some info needs to be changed.

I'm pretty sure Alonzo Miller died in the 1930's. I recently saw some archived photos of him in group photos in front of the firehouse in 1936. If you own this site I would be happy to talk to you about my personal experiences in detail, and stories that were told to me by old timers that I spoke to over 30 years ago.

It's true. The firehouse is haunted.

The firehouse is haunted by Alonzo Miller's ghost.
My late father owned the firehouse for a few decades.
I lived alone in the firehouse for three years in the 1980's.
Lots of things moving around, slamming doors, etc. A couple of things happened that were beyond a doubt that he was there. Never saw an apparition but I could feel his presence. Alonzo was know as a prankster when he was alive. I never felt threatened except for one time when I may have made him angry. He was generally a friendly ghost.
