Others may know this inn by the name of Murphy's Lamplight Inn. The name was changed in 2008. People who have stayed or worked at the inn have reported haunting incidences like the sight of a man and a woman dressed in 1920s attire dancing by the bar area while a little girl watches them. There's also the spirit of a young bride walking the upstairs halls.

Haunted Hotel

I worked at the restaurant when it was Murphy's Lamplight Inn for over 5 years until they sold. I grew up in the town and always heard stories of it being haunted but having never seen a ghost before I didn't think much of it when I got my first job here. One night I was one of the last employees there with the owner who was working the bar. I was waiting for my last table to leave and seated at the bar talking to the owner. There were french doors that opened to the bar area (it was a smoking section at this time) and I could watch for people to leave through the lobby through the reflection of the door. I saw the reflection of someone out there so I went out to thank my customers for coming in. When I walked into the lobby area there was a main in a full 3 piece suit, a thick mustache and he was swinging a cloak style jacket around his shoulders and tying it around his neck. I had but a second where I thought to myself, "when in the heck did this guy come in" but still just said "have a good night sir" he gave me a slight bow type acknowledgement and at the same time the owner of the bar said to me "who are you talking to?" I turned to look at her for a moment confused, and turned back to the lobby and he was gone. I told her..."uhh where did the man in the suit and cloak go?" and that's when I heard a bit more about some of the experiences people had previously. It all happened so fast that I dont recall much more other than thinking it was definitely a real person and confused why they were dressed like that. Other than that incident it was case after case of setting a table after close only to return to find a glass missing, then going to get a glass and suddenly they are all there. Hearing the floor creaking behind you when you were upstairs alone stocking bathrooms, or gathering supplies in the basement, or the usual feeling someone watching you while you closed down even though you knew you were in the room alone.
