Mission Table - Bowers Harbor Inn
Traverse City, MI 49686
The inn was built in the 1880s. Legend has it that the place is haunted by the original inn owner's wife -- Genevive Stickney. Her spirit has been sighted in mirrors and pictures. Lights would also be seen turning on and off with unexplanable reason.
The story behind the haunting is that Mr. Stickney had an affair with his nurse and when he died, he left his fortune to the nurse. The only thing he left behind for Mrs. Stickney is the inn. Out of despair and severe depression, she hung herself to death from the elevator shaft.
