This one of the most haunted historic buildings in Michigan, some even refer to it as the most haunted in America. It's also on the National Register of Historic Places.

What makes it so believably haunted is the odd occurrence of two tragic fires in it's history that were to the day and same hour, but 65 years apart. The first fire occurred on January 19, 1913.

To this day, workers and guests attest to paranormal experiences including the smell of cigar smoke when no one is smoking and sighting of a little girl spirit that likes to play in the kitchen and near the banquet room steps.

caught fire

it caught fire in the early 2020s and was damaged but is slowly being restored no thanks to the mayor not doing a dang thing to help them

Charming and So Lovely

I love the haunted feel of the place, the dim lighting, candles glowing, and all the old mirrors on the wall. Elegant, classy, and dignified, it is like a transport back into time. Authentic, atmospheric, and on an eerie street, too, near railroad tracks. The food is gourmet and never disappoints. It’s an experience worth paying for with a comedy club in the old cellar.

Cool place, food made me ill

they have a good menu and afternoon tea. The atmosphere is like stepping back in time. Although, I ate there twice, both meals very expensive which is okay but I had food poising from eating their beef. I was sick and so was my brother whom I gave my left overs too. I was the only one in our party that had the beef, so I summed it down to that.

Great place!

My dad used to rent an upstairs room there in 1976-1977, and my brother and I stayed with him on the weekends. I saw a little girl at the end of the hall but it was dark. I said hi but she didn't say anything back. She moved away but I didn't see where she went . No door opened and she didn't go downstairs . I ran into the room and slammed the door shut . I told my dad and he told me she was a ghost that everyone sees but she's not scary just nosey. Besides there were no other kids in the hotel.
I was freaked out but excited at the same time. I tried to see her again but I never did. I've been interested in the paranormal ever since.
