This restaurant was formerly a hotel. It was built when railroads first came to Fenton in 1856. It has gone through many ownerships and has converted to a white tableclothed fine dining restaurant in 1997 when Nick and Peggy Sorise purchased. When it turned 150 years old in 2006, the Sorises' officially changed the name of Fenton Hotel to Fenton Hotel Tavern & Grille.

The hotel turned restaurant is believed to be haunted by an unknown gentleman with a hat who frequents the bar drinking whisky. Other paranormal events reported include wine glasses moving across the bar as well as disembodied voices and brushes across people's body.

dis place haunted!!!!!

i went up there and saw a dam ghost, he say 'wherec you want to sit?' i said 'but who in the hell are you?'. he said "waiter" and i reply "if youre a damn waiter why aint you a girl?". the sissy looked offended and i said "i knew you damn ghosts would try to trick me" he said "im getting the manger" or something and I said "get the damn ghost parter, i could care less" as i spit my Red Man on the ground. some other wuss come on up and said "hey, youre leaving" i said "im hear for sum dolgone food, whens that coming? i dont care if ghosts try to scare me, i know better". i then rememeberd that i had already had spent most of the day drinking in the woods and was thinking about supernatural and whatnot for the majority of the day. I considered that this may have been not actually a hauntered situation per se, but the sissy "waiter" said he was a boy and boys cant be girl job. girl job only girl job. the part of the problem with the world today is no one wants to snap beans with grandma anymore. and thats the god honest truth. I been to a lot of restaurants but none of them tried tell me a dang boy was a girl. i ended up being banned from the restaurants by the 'manager' but that int gonna stop me from eating fries. ghosts cant not scare me!!! yee yee!!!!

100% haunted

I've been going here since I was a kid and have experienced weird occurrences myself. There is said to be the spirit of a woman that hung herself in the woman's bathroom. When me and out family friends would go to the restaurant we would love to play Bloody Mary in that same bathroom; and though it only worked once, that was all we needed. Some other women have reported having their hair pulled from above them as they sit in the last bathroom stall as well as cold spots. I also remember a time where I went into the bar with my parents (a friend of theirs worked there at the time so we stopped in during closing) and out of the blue a glass shattered on the shelf. I can safely say that it scared the crap out of me, and their friend seemed unfazed, saying that "it happens quite frequently."

Fenton Hotel IS haunted!

My wife and I had dinner last month, and a tall older gentleman offered us a shot of whiskey which we happily accepted. After he walked to the bar to order it he suddenly vanished right before our eyes! We asked the bartender what that was and she just said our resident ghost does that often..and we weren't just seeing things.. we will be back as that didn't obviously scare us, but rather intrigued us.
