This property dates back to 1871 when it was the lumber boom in Newaygo. It was the Riblet house for S.K. Riblet who was instrumental in helping bring the main travel route for parts of north through Newaygo. In 2006, it became known as La Belle de la Riviere, a bed and breakfast featuring seven rooms for grand lodging. The property is reportedly haunted as there are reports that music and strange noises can be heard in the basement late at night and ghostly voices can be heard in guest rooms with no other explanation for it.
