Would be scarier if they could actually touch you. Would not recommend for people who can not do stairs or ladders. Otherwise recommend to everyone else. People that run it are very helpful and polite, they appreciate their customers or as they say victims.

The event was very well organized by people who seemed to genuinely enjoying pulling it off. Looking at the shop for the destroyer was also a treat.
The scare actors we're very scary and interactive. The experience was immersive, even with a 3d glasses portion.
10/10 would recommend and go again!

This is the best haunted attraction I have been to. My husband and I go with my sister in law and her husband to different haunted attractions and this one was all of our favorite!! Although it is busy and has a bit of a wait time, the way they have it set up so you can wait in your car and not have to stand out in the cold is a huge bonus. There is so much effort and decoration put into every single area of the ship. They do so well on targeting people's fears. There were themes and areas that I've never seen before and it was amazing. Such a phenomenal job and we will absolutely be coming back in the years to come. It was a fantastic time.

I went with my friend tonight and we both had a good time with a lot of scares and a lot of laughs. Prior to yesterday I had never even heard of this attraction, but I can say now that I'm really glad we went there and had the experience. We took turns going first through sections, and going first or second has it's own flavor of scary. Some of the lasers have such a disorienting effect in the dark, it really adds to the experience. I feel like they had the level of lighting mastered. It's super cool descending into the ship as it feels like you're going deeper into this inescapable Hell. You've got to let go and buy into the whole lore of the attraction and you will have a lot more fun. All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and will for sure be going again next year.

Took our family of 6 last night, first time for all of us. Ages range from 10-42, and it was a great time! Everyone had fun, the workers and volunteers were very helpful and such a great group to interact with! If you can go, and would like a great experience, I would highly recommend!

Knowing the history of the ship, which increased the scare factor, it was a great experience. Made you use all your senses to get thru it. My family and I did the Edson incident about 6 years ago and it was fun. However, I was not expecting to be as terrified and shocked (in a great way) as I was this year! My friend and I attended the 2023 Incident and we were scared out of our minds! We had such a great time and it was so worth the fee! It's close and it's unique in that it is a part of American history! I highly recommend it!

I ended up going through the Incident alone, and it was one of the most exhilarating things I have ever done! I highly recommend this haunted attraction. I had never been on the ship before experiencing the Incident, and I think that made it even scarier and more fun and immersive for me. Some spots were so dark, I did not know which way to go, and there were many narrow stairways almost like ladders. It was so much fun though, everyone was very nice, and I will definitely be returning!

The adventure takes place on a U.S. warship that takes guests in from the bridge to the depths of the ship. The narrow passages and companionways add to the claustrophobia and scary points in the adventure (no spoilers here). As with all older warships these passages, hatches, and stairwells, etc., can be difficult to navigate for taller or larger visitors. The adventure was great, everything my wife and I wanted from a haunted attraction. By the end, my wife was frazzled. Well done! The management and haunted crew were supper nice. My wife accidentally dropped something and they went out of their way to return it. Please visit this attraction and enjoy it. We also visited this ship several years ago, and during the daytime, as a floating museum, there's a lot to see and learn from. Please do this as well and give proper respect to the ship.

It was a great experience. Not only do you get the experience of the haunted house but you also get the experience of the ship tour in one. Just watch your step and don’t trip. The scare actors were really good and made the experience 10 times better. The workers selling tickets and giving the run down are very polite and genuinely enjoy their job so it makes it the experience way more enjoyable.

This haunt is so cool. Ran by the historic preservation society that owns the boat, they totally do the goofy Scooby-Doo style cartoony-makeup-and-ghosts-haunt to a T. It is family-friendly and leans into the fact that this boat is the destination of many field trips across Michigan's schools.

The Edson is a real ship that saw wartime action in Vietnam, commissioned in 1958 and retired in 1988. That fact alone makes this a "legit" haunted boat without the decorations, and the biggest strong suit of this haunt is the boat itself. The haunt takes you on a one-way path through the ship, starting on the top deck/bridge and eventually going through the engine rooms and up a hatch on the stern. It is not easy to navigate physically with very narrow passages becoming even more narrow with the haunt decorations added in. The scares are mostly jump scares, and the actors dress the part in naval uniforms as it seems they may be volunteers or work with the museum that owns the boat.

All-in-all this is a decent haunt, at a good price point with the profits going to a good cause, and if it wasn't so far away from my group's home base, we'd go up every season since it's so unique.

Pros:
- Real, war-used Vietnam era ship
- The actors/volunteers are good and kind to younger kids
- Super cool getting to the parking lot and seeing it lit up and hearing the horn blow every 90 seconds.
- There's a light history presentation before the haunt, not nearly what you would get visiting the regular museum, but enough to get something "more" from your haunt experience.

Cons:
- Line can get ridiculously long. They only allow a certain amount of people to stand in the line and they do a first-come, first-served digital queue. This could very easily be alleviated by doing what haunts like Eloise do and have them sell a set number of tickets per half hour time slot, but this issue is ultimately minor.
- It's really tight inside so groups can back up if one group moves slowly due to accessibility issues. This happened to our group and kind of ruined the experience because the lady in front of us would not let us pass her group, causing 4 groups to all exit together.
- If you like adult/gory/intense horror, this haunt is not that. I did not factor this con into my score.

The people who put on the event, and all the people who volunteer, are all so passionate about saving the Edson and making it the top Scare Location in the State!
The costumes, decor, and ambience are perfect for this old ship! And of course, the Edson has lots of spookiness without any help- the creaking and groaning of metal, and the resident ghosts may even make an appearance... if you are brave enough!

The ship is amazing, the people are incredible, and they put together a spooky ambiance that’s appropriate for pre-teens through 80 yr olds, and I saw all of those this last weekend. We drove 1 1/2 hours to get here. We all had a great time. Very unusual first because it was on a huge war ship. Then the creepiness factor, scary scenes and awesome scary characters just kept adding to the Edson Experience. If you have to drive far spring for the Express entery.

We've enjoyed this scare for 4 years and each time is a fun, new experience! The Edson is a beautiful piece of history that generates a unique energy and eerie excitement in the air. You approach the massively incredible ship - ominously backlit by moonlight - and climb aboard, taking in her grandeur and rich history. Passing mounted machine guns, you inhale one last breath of the crisp, fall, night air and cross the threshold. Fog and dim lights engulf you and your anticipation rises. With heightened senses, you twist and turn continuing deeper into the belly of the beast, climbing down ladder after ladder into the unknown abyss. Ofen being unable to decipher actors from props, you're on high alert as your eyes scan who or what's lurking in the darkness. The environment creates perfect opportunities to elicit frightful screams and fun jump scares. But don't let your guard down with such distractions... you never know who's following you or what will pounce from the shadows and strike again! Each room offers a new opportunity to look inside the mad scientists lair, at the zombie infirmary, or captains quarters of death. From strobe lights, death metal, chainsaws, and crazy chaos to claustrophobic, silent darkness .. your heart and mind race. The layered scares and adrenaline rush push your senses to the limit. It's the perfect recipe for fear and fun. Kudos to the two families who continually reinvent the scares and keep us coming back for more. We'll see you again next year!

I enjoyed my time aboard the USS Edson. This was my first time on a real warship, and the 2nd haunted house I've been to in my life. The actors did a good job and were rather friendly. More of the actors wearing scary masks/makeup (including scary cloth masks) would have been nice, though weirdly, I felt more unnerved when I was isolated in the ship rather than when an actor appeared behind me. The small flashlight provided was rather useful, though the fog effects could have been turned down a bit. I did get a bit confused in a bigger room were there was heavy fog and lights on the ceiling. At times, shadows appeared to be solid objects.

Definitely worth the price of admission, though I wish I could have been there for 2019 season. The upgrades to the admission booth and waiting pavilion are most welcome.

An outstanding haunt with great scares and loads of fun. Went with my cousins and we had a blast. It was my first visit into any type of battle ship for that matter. Each cabin inside concealed many bone-chilling moments. I jumped more than once. Actors performance was excellent. It was not too expensive either. Recommended!!

I and my family had a wonderful time at the Edson. The haunted house had creepy and realistic sets with great props and scares. Climbing the decks involved some physical activity. Hence your fitness matters. Couple of scares actually had my heart in my mouth. My hubby was also startled by couple of scenes. Actors were fantastic. I will come again.

Heard a lot about Edson from my friends. So it was a non-brainer when my GF proposed the idea to visit. The wait time in the lines were not too long. The scares are well planned and executed. Wow, the ship was great and scary. The whole set up is real unlike other haunted attractions and that itself adds to the excitement. It was really crowded and we waited almost for an hour. What a wonderful attraction!!! The makeup and costumes were so detailed it was hard to tell what was real and what wasn’t! The lights and decor hid hiding horrors excellently so. Also what is better than being able to check out a naval destroyer in the process? Even if there wasn’t a jump scare, the way the actors just stand and stare is enough to get your heart racing—the anticipation surrounding open windows and corners will add to the horror!

My wife and I saw it was voted number 7th scariest in Michigan and we went cause it was close to us, but after going to it, it was awesome! Great haunted ship and I would recommend it to anyone! Scary as HELL! And the fact that it was on Paranormal Activity show for being really haunted makes it even better! Going through a real navel ship was a perfect set up and made it even more realistic! Very satisfied!

I've been to many haunted attractions around the states but believe me, the Edson is something very different from all the contemporaries, one of the best! Almost all other haunted attractions present us with a house or a related setup and it's almost predictable. The 'Edson' is different, the ship is really exciting and to go inside a ship itself is a surprising and confusing thing, the organizers have very well utilized the fact.

Great scary fun. I screamed a lot. The set up was amazing to say the least. Climbing up the ship’s stairs took some effort. The inside area had many hidden scares and props. Most scares took me by surprise. Actors did a great job in scaring people. I could hear screams from the area ahead of us. The costumes and makeup was spot-on. The Edson is awesome! I’ve been going to haunted houses and such for 10 years hitting most of them north of Detroit and the Edson is one of the best! It isn’t your normal walk into this building and follow a path through some fake plywood and tarps. This is the real deal! Real ship, real setting, and for the most part realistic scare. You would have seen this in series like the twilight saga and ghost asylum and got terrified from it. Well, come here and you face it for real. The best way to spend a Halloween evening and this ship will never leave your memory. The escape room inside the ship was pretty cool. The puzzles were challenging and hard to find. The zombies looked practically real. The set up was designed so well and thanks to the creative team. It was very well organized and no flaws at all. Recommend this haunt for all and will visit again.

My girlfriend had been begging me to go to a haunted house because I have never been to one. So I agreed and chose this. After the long wait in my opinion was some of the scariest shi1 I've seen ever. Though it was scary I didn't know how much it was scaring her until we came to walk up some stairs and she fell to the ground in tears saying she was having a panick attack, I held her and we weren't able to make it through the rest of the haunted ship. I laughed a bit on walking out as her goal was to make me scared, for the fact that this haunted house is that scary and that we were able to get contact to leave and not suffer through it I think is pretty great, I'd suggest this to anyone :)

This is surely one of the most unique experiences I had on a Halloween day. My friend’s suggestion and we followed suit. The theme was around a ship and the location was great. It was cool and misty with the water around. It was exhilarating to think what is it from inside. Climbing down the ship you realize how haunted the ship is. It was mesmerizing and felt chill. The ambience was great. The set director has done a great job. The scenes are still fresh in the memory and thank you crew for creating something so unique. It was spooky and coming back to experience it again.

A unique haunt in that it was set up on a war ship. The storyline sets the tone and sows the seeds of terror in your mind. The rooms and corridors are designed with a creepy feel to it. I could not anticipate the scares and few times, I jumped. The scare staff were professional and they stayed in character. Overall, it was lots of fun. Everyone who loves haunted attractions need to do this. But one must be able to climb the stairs up and down.

Felt like being in Titanic. The set design was creepy at best with lots of props and actors in scary costumes. On few occasions, I screamed my lungs out and was holding onto his hands all the time. An amazing setup that you feel like in a haunted titanic. It is very much different from the regular haunts. Kudos to the team who set up such a thing for us. It was fun and exhilarating. Quite a mixed feeling. The ship was designed well. It looked authentic and surreal. It was quite cool. An escape room challenge inside a ship. Great place! 5 levels of terror in a haunted ship! Best haunted attraction I've ever been to! You never know what's terrifying effects are hidden in each turn and stairway! Definitely get your money's worth.

This is my 2nd visit to the haunted ship. They have changed numerous portions of the attraction and I didn’t felt it’s the same I visited last year. New theme and fresh elements added fun. And the $15 price is worth the experience.

The ship has a story and when you visit, you’ll find it pretty scary and super fun. There was lots of screaming and I even saw a lady running.. lol.. I would recommend it to people visiting the bay city. Yes.. I am planning to come with my kids next time.

I attend the Edson Incident every year. So much hard work and dedication go into making this one of the best-haunted attractions in all of Michigan and it is actually family friendly for families with teens. Make sure to check it out, not only is it a haunted attraction, the ship is haunted year round, who knows you might run into an actual ghost.

This is very creepy and scary! I actually screamed alot, and I NEVER scream. The boat at night is scary enough, but to add the suspense of never knowing when the next scare is coming! And the real spiders add just the right touch! Yikes! Make sure you are physically able to climb up and down some steep stairs to all the different levels though!

I am not one who scares essay and let me say this haunted ship got me a lot! The ship it's self is creepy to begin with, add in the all the scare factors and it makes for one of the best I've been too! I did see they also have an option to do a light scare for kids so it's great for all ages. 100% recommend!

Was more of a laugh than anything hide spots predictable no indications of entrance once on the ship. Good enough to take a 2 year old to to scare them. Makeup and effects not great but it was interesting being on the ship theme predictable wished it was more than zombie theme

This is a great haunted house! Very different from others out there. It's on a ship which is cool anyway, but you have to go up and down to the different levels. Very erie and the people are awesome.

It's just so different from any haunted house out there, you get the ship scared out of you on an actual US Destroyer. It totally worth going!

This boat is awesome! They do such a good job and the people are so awesome that run it! But beware of the real spirits that could come your way. (; Deffienelty worth it!
