The Scream Machine Haunted Attraction

We have gone to this haunted house now 3 years in a row and done the Christmas part as well 2 years in a row.
I always jump the most at this haunt and the elevator is so much fun. Its set up well and theres a lot of details in it. Theres a lot of jump scares and the actors are amazing. They will stay in character and talk with you or keep you moving to space people accordingly. They also re-space you towards the end which is nice if you do catch up to the people in front of you.
We paid for a fast pass and waited around 15 mins.

The Xmas event was a lot of fun, its very festive and they change the house around a bit to make it a little different. You also get a picture for free with a bloody Santa before you walk though and the staff there are also amazing.

We love this haunt and are sad to see this is their last year at this location, we hope they find a new building since we love it so much.

Well the headline is not 100% accurate since The Haunt in Grand Rapids is technically behind a strip mall, but as far as lower budget haunts go, The Scream Machine has been a MUST visit every year for my haunt group. The haunt itself was small, however the changes they made every year made it fresh and worth the visit. The asylum section is terrifying every year, and in 2021 they had a projection system that projected spiders and it legit made my buddy scream. Any haunt that makes a lifetime haunt fan scream is an automatic 5/5.

They moved this off season to a much larger, self contained building, and have been posting videos of them building all-new sets for the new location. It's a labor of love at Scream Machine, and they know for sure what to do. Also had a top quality short escape room if that's your bag, which I'm sure is moving to the new spot as well. They are worth visiting every season if you're local to downriver Detroit.

this is the best haunted house ive been to yet. every single corner, every single room, every second i was in here i was SCREAMING. actually terrifying you will not be disappointed. super worth the money. no where else compares to this place.

The haunt experience is great, our favorite so far..
However wasn't at all happy about an hour & a half wait in line. I Don't see the point of choosing an arrival time when purchasing tickets, when your time comes and goes. We got in line about 9 20 for a 10pm arrival, we didn't get in until 10 45. I understand the VIP line, but maybe a 2 general to 1 VIP might get people moving a bit quicker. Wasn't to happy about the smoking, vaping and pot smell in line.

DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY!!!! I went there to get the crap scared out of me and they delivered!!! It was so much fun and the staff abides by the no touch rule as long as we don't touch them (really appreciated that.) Overall had so much fun and will be coming back with my family this time to watch them get scared. Also when I lost my phone the staff where very calm and very nice about helping me find it.

Visited Scream Machine over the busy Sweetest Day weekend and I have to say we were impressed!

Just waiting in line, listening to the sounds coming from within, we knew we would enjoy the haunt!

Sets and props were spot on! Incredible details and investment really showed.

The actors were spot on! Unique character development and great hiding spots made for an adventure around ever corner!

The staff was incredible friendly and grateful for every victim! We had a mishap with the VIP upgrade (totally worth the price, by the way) and the security guard walked us around to the ticket booth to get it sorted out, waited for us and escorted us back to the front of the line.

Great location and use of space. Highly recommend!
